Azerbaijan sees drop in declared oil exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Azerbaijan's oil exports declared by the State Customs Committee (SCC) (nomenclature code 2709) decreased by 11.2 percent to 4.595 million tons from January through February 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports, referring to the committee.

The committee's data shows that Azerbaijan's revenue from oil sales amounted to $2.826 billion, which is 13.1 percent less than the revenue from January through February 2023.

The share of oil in the total structure of Azerbaijan's exports from January through February 2024 amounted to 59.12 percent. In the reporting period of 2023, the share of oil in the country's total exports was 71.91 percent.

From January through February 2024, a total of 16 countries became buyers of Azerbaijani oil.

Traditionally, Italy (35.4 percent of Azerbaijan's oil exports, or 1.627 million tons) and Israel (over 884,322 tons worth $527,533 million) are among the top 3.
