ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 20. Turkmenistan is carrying out large-scale work on the gasification of new settlements in the Lebap region located in the east of the country, Trend reports.
According to official data, 18.4 million Turkmen manat ($5.25 million) of capital investments were disbursed in the region, which is 2.4 times higher than the annual plan.
The capital construction department of the 'Lebapgazüpjünçilik' administration laid about 40 kilometers of gas pipelines of various pressures.
Within the framework of the state program, a 4.5 kilometer gas pipeline was built in Turkmenabat city, and more than 2.2 kilometers were built in the village of Akgala in Sayat district.
Thanks to this, more than 1,600 new households in the Lebap region of the country have access to natural gas.
Meanwhile, at the moment, the number of households using natural gas in the Lebap region has reached 213,000.
The country plans to absorb more than 8 million Turkmen manat ($2.28 million) of public investments this year and lay 38.5 kilometers of new gas pipelines in villages and towns in the Lebap region.
