BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. The Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) has announced the top EU purchasers of Azerbaijani oil in January 2024, Trend reports.
Eurostat's data showed that out of one million tons of Azerbaijani oil purchased by EU countries in the reporting month, Italy accounted for 579,500 tons (worth 338.1 million euro), the Czech Republic - 207,700 tons (an increase of two percent compared to January 2023) worth 120.6 million euro, and Portugal - 138,300 tons (an increase of 9.7 percent) worth 82.7 million euro.
Overall, Azerbaijan's revenue from oil sales to the eurozone in January 2024 amounted to almost 596 million euros, according to Eurostat data.
To note, as Eurostat data showed, EU countries imported around 20.3 million tons of oil worth 12.4 billion euros from Azerbaijan (an increase of 2.6 percent compared to 2022), and Azerbaijan entered the TOP-10 oil exporters to the eurozone in 2023.
