BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. The average filling level of underground gas storage facilities (UGSF) in Europe reached 59.39 percent by March 21, 2024, which is a high indicator, Trend reports via the Gas Infrastructure Europe company.
At the same time, active gas extraction has been observed in Bulgaria (where the Chiren gas storage facility is filled to 48.79 percent) and in Poland (where the total capacity of gas storage facilities is 47.38 percent).
Bulgaria covers around 40 percent of the gas needs of Azerbaijani pipeline gas.
Additionally, Bulgaria and several European countries receive liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivered to ports from various countries.
"The total volume of LNG regasification in port terminals as of the evening of March 20 exceeded 53 percent (in February, the average performance was 51.1 percent)," the company noted.
Currently (data as of March 20), the average gas prices in the EU fluctuate within the range of $320–340 per 1,000 cubic meters.
