BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry has named the volume of gas production and exports from the key Shah Deniz field for the entire period of its operation, Trend reports.
"Approximately 216 bcm of natural gas has been produced at the Shah Deniz field from December 2006 until April 1, 2024. Since 2007 (start of exports) and until April 1, 2024, 153.4 bcm of gas has been exported to the world markets from this field," the information from the Ministry of Energy says.
Production from Shah Deniz from January through March 2024 amounted to 6.9 bcm of gas (3 percent growth to the first quarter of 2023).
The reserves of Shah Deniz are estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
To note, eight countries are its buyers, of which six are in Europe.
