BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. From January through March 2024, the export of Azerbaijan's oil, declared by the State Customs Committee (SCC) under nomenclature code 2709, experienced a 17.6 percent decline compared to the same period in 2023, amounting to 5.6 million tons, Trend reports via SCC.
Azerbaijan's revenue from the sale of the specified volumes of oil amounted to $3.49 billion, which is 18.27 percent less than the revenue from January through March 2023.
From January through March 2024, the share of oil in Azerbaijan's overall export composition reached 58.32 percent. This marks an increase compared to year-on-year figures when oil accounted for 55.19 percent of the country's total exports.
In the period mentioned, a total of 17 countries became customers of Azerbaijani oil.
The leading trio comprises Italy, which purchased 1.93 million tons of oil valued at $1.23 billion, followed by Israel with 1.02 million tons worth $0.621 billion, and India with 0.713 million tons worth $0.454 billion.
