BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. Israel increased purchases of Azerbaijani oil by almost 44 percent, Trend reports via the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
From January through March 2024, Israel bought over one million tons of oil worth $621 million from Azerbaijan, while in the first quarter of 2023, the figure was 711,000 tons worth $446 million.
In 2023, Israel bought 2.27 million tons of oil worth $1.39 billion from Azerbaijan.
To note, Israel has traditionally (since 2006) been among the TOP 5 buyers of Azerbaijani oil, which is delivered to the Mediterranean via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
