ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 22. Kazakhstan's SevKazEnergo JSC will allocate about 17.6 billion Kazakh tenge ($39.7 million) for the repair work of Petropavlovsk CHP-2, Trend reports.
According to the official source, repair work is taking place as part of the readiness of the entire engineering infrastructure and housing and communal services facilities until September 15 on behalf of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.
The CHP will carry out major repairs of two boilers, two turbine units, the reconstruction of boiler unit No. 2 and turbine unit No. 1, the repair of chimney No. 2, and the construction of chimney No. 1.
At the same time, North-Kazakhstan Regional Electric Distribution Company will allocate 3.3 billion Kazakh tenge ($7.4 million) for the repair and reconstruction of 402.6 kilometers of power supply networks and 54 substations; Kokshetau Energy LLP - 1.8 billion Kazakh tenge ($4 million) for the repair of 1,070 kilometers of power supply networks and 186 substations; and Petropavlovsk Heating Networks LLP - 1.4 billion Kazakh tenge ($3.1 million) for the repair and reconstruction of 7 kilometers of heating networks.
In general, in preparation for the heating season in 2024, it is planned to repair 10 power units, 55 boilers, and 45 turbines in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda, Aktau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Zhezkazgan, Aktobe, Ekibastuz, Stepnogorsk, Rudny, Balkhash, and Aksu.
Meanwhile, within the framework of investment agreements, work is underway to restore power unit No. 1 at Ekibastuz State District Power Plant-1 and replace turbine units at the Atyrau CHPP and Topar GRES. In addition, projects are planned for the construction of power unit No. 3 at the Ekibastuz State District Power Plant, as well as the expansion of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant and the Karaganda Thermal Power Plant 3.
The implementation of these projects will ensure the commissioning of new capacities totaling more than 1,500 MW.
