BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. A total of 9.749 million tons of Azerbaijan's oil were transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline from January through May 2024, which is 7 percent less than the figure for the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan, at the same time, a significant growth in pumping through BTC was observed for oil from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
Thus, the total volume of transportation of oil from these two countries via BTC exceeded 2.237 million tons from January through May 2024 (14.8 percent more than the figure for the same period in 2023).
However, BTC accounted for 75.1 percent of the total oil pumping through trunk oil pipelines, or 11.986 million tons (a decrease of 3.6 percent in the five months of 2023).
