BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. Serbia received about 17 million cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan in the first half of 2024, the statement of the State Statistics Committee (SSC) said, Trend reports.

The supplies started in January 2024 based on the contract signed on November 15, 2023, between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Serbian company Srbijagas and were carried out to Serbia for the first time.

The agreement sets the stage for a whopping 400 million cubic meters of gas to flow from Azerbaijan to Serbia in 2024–2026, with the potential to crank up the supply even more in 2027.

According to statistical information, Azerbaijan's revenues from gas sales to Serbia (data until early May) amounted to about $6 million, of which $1.36 million was payment for the April shipment of 4.7 million cubic meters.

To note, Serbia receives gas from Azerbaijan via Turkey and Bulgaria.
