ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 24. Azerbaijan imported more than 86,600 tons of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan from January through April this year, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, during the specified period, the volume of purchases of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan was almost three times higher than in the first four months of 2023, which amounted to more than 30,900 tons.
In monetary terms, Azerbaijan's procurement of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan from January through April this year totaled over $32.9 million, which is also almost three times more than about $11.8 million spent over the same period in 2023.
Turkmenistan's share in the total volume of purchases by Azerbaijan of technical liquid fuel from foreign countries in tonnage amounted to 60.7 percent, and in value terms - 54 percent.
Additionally, in the entirety of 2023, Azerbaijan acquired 175,730 tons of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan, amounting to approximately $72.2 million in total expenditure.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the first four months of 2024 amounted to $150.6 million, which is almost half the trade turnover between the two countries in the same period last year, amounting to more than $296.5 million.
