BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the American oilfield services company Halliburton have agreed to collaborate on a project to reassess the residual hydrocarbon potential of the shallow water section of the "Guneshli" field, a key asset managed by SOCAR, Trend reports citing SOCAR’s press service.
"SOCAR and Halliburton have signed a 'Technical Services Agreement.' The purpose of the document is to conduct modern studies to reassess the residual hydrocarbon potential of the 'Guneshli' field and clarify the zones of remaining oil," the statement said.
The agreement was signed by the General Director of SOCAR’s Azneft Production Union, Ali Gurbanov, and the Vice President of Halliburton for the Caspian region, Graham Taylor.
The shallow water development of the "Guneshli" field is managed by the "28 May" Oil and Gas Production Department of Azerbaijan’s Azneft.
