BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18. The first Caspian Gas Industry Forum, organized by the Caspian Energy Club and Enermus, the energy company, has been launched in Baku, Trend reports.
The event speakers include Head of the Azerigaz Production Union of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Azer Mammadov, Head of Enermus Zaur Mustafayev, Deputy Director of Azerbaijan’s Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) Samir Humbatov, and Head of the Industrial Safety Association Orkhan Khalilzade.
The topics include the development of the gas industry with consideration for new 'green' trends.
According to the head of the SOCAR Azerigaz Production Association (PA), Azer Mammadov, the PA is following a new decade-long strategy that incorporates "green" technologies and decarbonization measures relevant to Azerbaijan’s gas sector.
He also announced that in mid-October, "Azerigaz" will test technology from the American company Picarro on its pipelines.
"We plan to monitor pipeline conditions using the latest GPS systems," he noted.
Mamedov further added that "Azerigaz" is actively advancing the gasification process in Azerbaijan, including in the liberated territories.
"Currently, we serve 2.6 million subscribers," Mammadov stated.
