AZPETROL PLANS TO SET UP PRODUCTION OF CYLINDERS FOR LIQUEFIED GAS

The Azerbaijani-Turkish joint venture (JV) A&D, set up between the Azerbaijni Azpetrol company and Turkish Milangaz, plans to arrange production of cylinders with the liquefied gas till the end of 2005, Azpetrol told Trend.

Manufacturing of cylinders will be established based on the Baku Electrical Appliances Plant, Azelektroterm, which is currently under the private investors control.

The JV A&D is planned to produce 6-liter and 12-liter cylinders. The enterprise will be engaged in filling the cylinders with gas and their subsequent sale in the domestic market
of Azerbaijan.

Azpetrol noted, that the liquefied gas for the new project would come from the JSC Azerbaijan Qaz Emali (the Azerbaijani gas-processing plant (AGPP), located 35 km south of Baku. The enterprise design processing capacity is 6,5 billion cu m gas a year.

For the moment Azpetrol uses for the liquefied gas sale, production of the Baku Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (former Azerneftyanacag) through the network of its own filling stations.

The Azerbaijan-Turkish JV Azturgaz, established in 1955 between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the Turkish company Altintash is currently actively operating on the Azerbaijani market.
