"GAZEXPORT " TO SUSPEND GAS DELIVERIES TO AZERBAIJAN IN JULY
Gazexport Ltd. (a daughter company of the Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) Gazprom) notified the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) of suspending gas deliveries to Azerbaijan for three days. The gas delivery suspension will take place on 26-29 July, SOCAR, a gas buyer, told Trend.
According to the SOCAR spokesman, the reason for the fuel delivery is the gas pipeline repair on the Dagestan’s territory. Gazexport is currently delivers daily per 14 million cu m of fuel.
In January-June, Azerbaijan received from Gazexport 2,6 billion cu m gas, which is 99 million cu m less of the first half of 2004. In June, 367,1 million cu m gas has been delivered to Azerbaijan, which is 71,1 million cu m less of the gas imported in June 2004.
This year SOCAR plans to purchase some 6 billion cu m gas from Gazexport. The natural gas is supplied to the country through the Shirvanovaka-Gazimagomed gas pipeline.
