The Gaseksport Ltd., the daughter structure of the Russian Gasprom JSC, stopped gas supply to Azerbaijan due to accident in the Mozdok-Gazimamad gas pipeline in the Khasyurt region, Dagestan. The Company intends to restore gas export, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the purchaser of the gas, told Trend.
In accordance with some data, 6-meter section of the gas pipeline is damaged as a result of explosion. There are no victim or lost.
From January to August the Gaseksport delivered to Azerbaijan 3,246bn cu m gas against 3,002bn cu m in 2004. In August the figure comprised 296m cu m, or 54.6m cu m less as compared July. The SOCAR plans to purchase approximately 6bn cu m gas in 2005.
