The opening ceremony of the memorial of the Pole engineer, Pavel Pototsky in Bibiheybat field, where the engineer worked in 20th century, was held, Trend reports.
In his remarks, the President of the SOCAR, Natig Aliyev highly appreciated the labor of Pototsky for Azerbaijan and noted that the opening of the memorial was a result of the Azerbaijani-Polish friendship.
Pototsky was born in 1879 and arrived in Baku in 1899.
Attending the event were the Vice-President of the SOCAR, Khoshbakht Yusifzade, the Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, the representatives of the diplomatic missions of Georgia, China and Iran.
