In 2004 this figure was 4 billion 175 million cubic meters, in 2005 - 4 billion 963 million cubic meters of gas. In 2005 the population has been provided with 3 billion 012 million cubic meters gas. In 2006 this volume will be raised till 3 billion 140 million cubic meters.

At the fuel and energy balance 120 million cubic meters gas more are also envisaged for the use in emergency situations. Part of this amount (about 20 million cubic meters) was used for providing Georgia, where the emergency situation arose.

As Melikov noted, no raising of tariffs for the gas supplied to the customers is planned. Privatization or transfer of the gas distribution networks of the country to management is not expected at least till late 2007, the Azerigaz head noted.
