Рђzerbaijan lowered essentially purchasing of metallic pipes

In January 2006 Azerbaijan imported 6060.5 tons of various metallic pipes for on-shore and off-shore operations, which is by 39.2% less than the similar period of 2005. For the period specified the pipes were imported for $6201,900, which is 48% less than 2005, the State Statistics Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is dealing with the oil and gas operations in Azerbaijan, the foreign companies with the PSA type contracts and Joint Ventures with the foreign capital involvement.

The share of the pipe import for the oil and gas pipelines during this period is 1926.4 tons, which is by 72.4% less of the same period in 2005. The oil and gas pipeline pipes in January 2006 were imported for the amount of $343.7, which is 90.6% less than January 2005. SSC indicated that 1464.2 tons of drilling pipes were purchased in this period, which is by 39.8% less than 2005. The total amount of import was $2154.9, which is 45.1% more than 2005.
