In January to February 2006 the oil and gas production units (OGPU) of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) have handed to exploitation fund 30 wells against the target of 41, the SOCAR told Trend. 25 wells were taken from the inactive fund (target of 35) and 5 new (against the target of 6).
The SOCAR said that the onshore operating companies and joint enterprises commissioned 42 wells in January-February 2006, or 21 wells more as compared to the plan. 35 wells were taken out of the inactive fund (the target was 20) and 7 were new ones (against of the target of 1).
The SOCAR said that as 1 March 1 2006 the active fund comprised 4888 wells. The similar fund of operating companies and joint enterprises made up 1840 as of 1 March 2006.
