Supplements by Kazakhstan to agreement on oil transportation via BTC to be reviewed

Some supplements by Kazakhstan to an intergovernmental agreement of Kazakh oil transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline will be presented to Azerbaijan, a Kazakh source told Trend.

We will only send several supplements to Azerbaijan, which are mostly of editorial matter. Meeting aimed at discussing this issue might be held in the second part of April, the source said.

A special state commission in Azerbaijan will review the supplements. 500,000 barrels of oil a day are expected to run within the framework of the Kashagan project of Kazakhstan from 2010.

Pipeline next to Kurik village, a terminal with total carrying capacity of 750,000 barrels of oil per day and oil transporting fleet are to be built in the territory of Kazakhstan under the project. Building of 5 tankers with the capacity of 60 tons, 25 with 12 tons will be the most appropriate way to transport oil to Baku.
