Azerbaijan paid over $13mln for imported power in January

The republic has imported 389.3mln kWh of energy in January-February 2006 in amount of $13,131.3k. Volume of imported power fell by 57% year-over-year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee. At the moment the power is imported from Russia, Iran and Georgia. Blockaded Nakhchivan autonomous republic consumes the power supplied from Turkey.

In January-February an import of cement and clinkers in the republic totaled 187.1 thous tons and amounted $8,613.7k, showing year-over-year volumetric increase of 44,9% and amount increase of 49.3%. Fro the total volume of imported production, cement clinkers make 116.2 thous ton (year-over-year increase of 20.6%) and amounted $5,682.1k (year-over-year increase of 35.7%). Import of cement totaled 70.9 thous ton (year-over-year increase of 116.7%) in amount of $2,931.6k (year-over-year increase of 85.3%).
