Azerbaijans ability to give Georgia additional gas depend on the countrys fuel and power balance-2007, reportedly said Yagub Eyyubov, first Vice Premier of Azerbaijan. Such balance is to be drawn in November 2006, he said.

The balance reflects the volumes of gas needed to consume next year and amount of gas to produce. Upon completion of the balance, amount to be transferred to Georgia will get known. Eyyubov said Azerbaijan is always eager to help Georgia with gas and it showed such intention during winter 2005/2006. Supplies may continue this year as well.

On May 26 the talks were held in Baku between Azeri Minister of Industry and Energy Natik Aliyev and Georgian Minister of Power Nika Gilauri. They discussed possible aid to Georgia in fall and winter 2006/07.
