PA Azneft within State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic plans to drill a well in southern part of Western Absheron field. The well design depth is some 750m, SOCAR officials told Trend.
The well, suggested to be used as an advance, will be drilled from Absheron platform. Upon completion of drilling it will be shut in until the production starts.
SOCR officials said such an open field is effective for production as it is located close offshore. At the moment delineation and reserves estimation is performed in this part of the oilfield.
SOCAR is going to install a producing platform 40-50m offshore in southern part of Western Absheron field. Experts estimate the field capacity in some 1.5mt of conventional fuel.
