Azerbaijan offered Israel to establish a workgroup to examine possible oil transportation via BTC pipeline and through Israel to Red Sea, Trend reports quoting Natik Aliyev, Minister of Industry and Energy.
He said during the visit Israeli Infrastructure Minister made to Azerbaijan it was suggested to prolong BTC pipeline along the seabed of Mediterranean Sea to Israeli port Ashkelon. From there is can be transported via existing pipeline to town of Eylat on Red Sea.
Israeli officials consider this project quite a profitable deed as Red Sea opens the way to China, India and other countries of South-East Asia, Aliyev said. Minister said such project still requires numerous calculations of feasibility and other parameters.
