State Oil Company receives pipes for Guneshli gas treatment in September

In September 2006, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is receiving pipes to implement the gas treatment project at flats of Guneshli field SOCAR develops in dependently, president of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev told Trend. Besides, SOCAR is going to install two offshore pipelines to pump gas ashore. Upon completion of these pipelines, SOCAR may resume production from all abandoned gas wells at the field.

The World Bank experts are currently working on Guneshli low pressure gas collection program. This program is implemented at cost of $481,250 WBs grant.

Within the agreement with WB, a gas treatment program will be prepared to avoid its emission to the atmosphere. The program suggests installation of gas compressor station on Guneshli-4 platform. This station enables compressing the low pressure gas and transporting it ashore. Such gas compressor station at Guneshli field ill allow produce up to 4.9bn m3 of gas a year by 2010 against todays 2.2bn.
