Georgia to exchange energy with Turkey in winter

Today Georgian, Turkish power engineers started talking in Turkey on energy exchange. Guram Zhgenti, Director General, Georgian Energy Distribution Company, told Trend's special correspondent Georgia was going to sign a two-year agreement similar to that acted in fall-winter 2005/2006.

In accordance with this agreement Turkey delivered Georgia approximately 50-70MWh of energy in inter, and then Georgia returns this energy in summer when its hydroelectric power plants operate at full load. This year Georgia is going to receive 100MWh.

Georgian delegation to Turkey is headed by Alexander Khetaguri, deputy Minister of Energy.
