The Production Union Azneft of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) awaits proposals from joint venture Caspian Geophysical regarding vessels that may be exploited in conducting seismic works the fields of SOCAR,Trend reports with reference t SOCAR. The seismic investigations are intended to start after resolving the issue regarding vessels.
SOCAR is going to hold seismic investigations in the fields of Bulla, Bakhar, shallow parts of Guneshli and etc. These measures are aimed at defining readiness of fields, the places of the prospective drillings, etc. First, 3D seismic will be held in fields.
According to the information provided by SOCAR, oil reserves were discovered while drilling a well in the north of shallow part of Guneshli field. The investigations are held in relation with continuation of drillings in fields in new oil and gas objects.
Caspian Geophysical JV was founded by SOCAR in 1994. JV has implemented seismic works in the fields of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, Shah-Deniz, Karabakh, Ashrafi, etc. The vessels of Baku and Gilavar were used during these measures.
