Azerbaijan to Ship 380,000 Tons of Oil from Novorossiysk in October

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to ship 380,000 tons of Ural via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in October 2006. The SOCAR informed that Trend that the Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC) plans to load 80,000 tons of oil, while the SOCAR 300,000 tons of crude by 3 tanks

In October the AIOC will ship from pier 2 of the port 80,000 tons of oil (on 8-9 Oct). the SOCAR will ship 300,000 tons 140,000 tons from Pier 1, 180,000 tons from Pier 2 by two tankers each comprising 80,000 tons on 2-3 and 16-17 October.

In October the SOCAR will ship 220,000 tons of oil by two tankers 85,000 tons for oil trader Vitol (transit batch from the end of October) and 135,000 tons for trader REOC Ltd.

From the beginning of 2006 SOCAR sold in Novorossiysk oil loads to companies 979,000 tons of Ural by 11 tanks. A total of 456,000 tons of oil (6 oil batches) was acquired by trader Glencore

AIOC produces Azeri Light from Azeri-Chrag-Gunashli fields and exports crude via BTC, the Baku-Supsa, the northern pipeline and by the Azerbaijani-Georgian railway to Batumi.

The SOCAR produces ad exports oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields on equal rights with the AIOC and also lifts crude in other onshore and offshore fields at own expense. During 2005 SOCAR shipped 1.631mln ton of oil from Novorossiysk compared to 2.559mln ton in 2004.
