Over 557mln. cu.m. of Gas Pumped from Chirag-1 Platform in Jan-Sept

The State Oil Company informed Trend that a total of 21,443,000 cu.m. of gas has been lifted from Chirag platform in September, or 28.6% less than 2005. In January to September the reduction from the platform comprised 557,968,000 cu.m. of gas.

Over the 2nd quarter of 2006, part of the associated gas produced from Chirag platform was delivered to the gas compression station on Oil Rocks through the existing 16 subsea pipeline. Starting from the end of May the associated gas has been pumped to compressor and water injection platforms on Central Azeri for further pumping to stratums on the Azeri field.

Following the exploitation of compression and water injection platforms gas flaring on Chirag platform was ceased. At present 20 wells are under exploitation on Chirag platform, including 14 oil prediction and 6 water injection wells.
