SOCAR to Launch Petrol Stations Network Construction in Georgia

In order to make its activity in Georgia more active, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has been given a building in Tbilisi City. According to Kakha Bendukidze, Georgia`s State Reforms Minister, the decision on accelerating SOCAR`s activity in Georgia was made at the level of the Presidents of the two countries, Trend Special Correspondent to Tbilisi reports.

According to him, by the decision of the Georgian Government, SOCAR will receive a building and land of the total are of 478 square meters in the area of Tbilisi`s subway station 300 Aragvians through a direct sale.

SOCAR will pay $3 m. for these objects. At the same time, SOCAR is about to construct its petrol stations network in Georgia which will sell SOCAR`s refined products petrol and diesel. For these aims, SOCAR has established SOCAR Energy Georgia LLC. The founding documents for SOCAR Energy Georgia have already been prepared. At present, the personnel`s recruiting is underway. Starting from the next month, on a basis of tender, the Company is about to buy oil refined products in the country and then sell them in Georgia SOCAR Energy Georgia is established jointly with several Georgian companies. SOCAR holds 51 percent of shares of the recently-established company.
