On 27 November, a meeting of the Steering Committee of Salyan Oil Company, which carries out work on the onshore fields Kursangi-Garabagli, is to be held to discuss the budget for the work intended for the next year, Trend reports quoting the Company.
Earlier, the representatives of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Salyan Oil conducted the technical committee meeting. This meeting focused on next year's work. According to the preliminary decision, the operating company will drill 6 wells next year. At present, they are all intended for exploitation, but in future a decision may be made to drill water pumping wells, SOCAR reported.
It is expected to drill 8 wells within the contract in 2006. Four wells are intended for exploitation, two for water pumping, one for exploration and one for assessment. The amount of the intended investments totals nearly $50 mln. The drilling will be realized by the Chinese drilling contractor Great Wall.
