The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) continues the two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) seismology exploration on the contract area of the field of South-West Gobustan by request of the Gobustan Operating Company.
SOCAR informed Trend that definite part of the work is complete, direct completion is scheduled for 2007.
The Russian Trust of Tyumenneftgeofizika is subcontractor of the Gobustan Operating Company.
Three-dimensional seismology exploration work will be carried out on the area of 200 sq. meters of the Dashgil, Duvanny, and Kanizadagh fields (which enters the field of South-West Gobustan), and two-dimensional seismology exploration work will be carried out on the area of 480 sq. meters of the Central and North block.
Gobustan Operating Company (GOC) has developed Southwest Gobustan under the PSA concluded with SOCAR. The company began selling free gas in February 2006. In GOC 80% stock belongs to Commonwealth Gobustan Limited and 20% to SOCAR. In Commonwealth Gobustan Limited 37.17% belongs to Arawak Energy and 62.83% to China National Petroleum Company.
