Russian gas giant Gazprom is expecting a reply from Azerbaijan on the proposals regarding price and volumes of gas to be supplied to the country in 2007. Akif Hassanov, a representative of Gazprom Export (a subsidiary of Gazprom) to Baku, told Trend that the Russian company has proposed Azerbaijan to buy 1,5 bln. cubic meters at the price of $235 per 1000 cubic meters in 2007.
In January-November, 2006, GazpromExport supplied Azerbaijan with 4 bln. cubic meters of gas.
SOCAR wants to buy 4,5 bln. cubic meters at the price of $110 per 1000 cubic meters of gas. The Russian gas is imported via the pipeline Shirvanovka- Gazi-Mahammad.
A source in the Press-Service of Gazprom told that the negotiations between the two parties had not been finished yet. Hardly shall we have any information for the publicity today, the source explained.
