The company who won the contract was selected for its modern design, favourable functional properties, and architecture of Baku city as well as having the technical facilities of SOCAR.
The construction work will be carried out by Azerbaijani experts under the control of the Korean company. SOCAR has already obtained land on Heydar Aliyev Avenue for the construction of the office block.
The design of the project is in progress with a total area of the building to accommodate over 2,000 people and will comprise 59,102 sq m (underground area 18,300 sq m and on land 40,802 sq m). The office block will include several conference halls, hotels, social units, parking facilities including underground parking, autonomous technical establishments and sport units.
SOCAR has held talks on the new building with French, Italian, British, South Korean, Turkish, and Azerbaijani companies, which provided architectural ideas for construction. The height of the office block will make up 149.4 metres. The building will consist of 35 stories and 2 further stories underground.
