Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) stands ready to commence negotiations regarding commercial terms of its gas supply to Europe, SOCAR's high-ranking representative said.
"Possible tariffs are being considered regarding the gas' transit via the Poseidon pipeline between Greece and Italy, the Trans-Adriatic pipeline, and the NABUCCO pipeline," he said.
According to the representative, in addition, SOCAR wishes to study the market costs of gas.
Experts state that Azerbaijan may diversify gas transportation to Europe. Presently possibilities are being considered regarding transporting Azerbaijani gas to Europe, as well as the transit of Middle Asian gas via Azerbaijan, especially as it is intended to construct a Trans-Caspian gas pipeline.
