Aliyev / Around 96% of Azerigaz CJSC subscribers have been provided with gas metres, the head of Azerigaz, Alikhan Malikov, reported on 20 June, at the event dedicated to the Day of Gas Industry Workers. This year, Azerbaijan celebrates its 71st Anniversary of the establishment of the gas industry.
The total number of gas subscribers in Azerbaijan makes up some 1mln.
According to Malikov, the pilot project of setting up metres based on a prepayment system in Ganja city is in progress. So far, about 4,000 such metres have been set up, he said.
"If the implementation of the project is positive, analogue systems will be set up in Baku, Sumgayit and other cities," Malikov said.
The cost for setting up one such metre is AZN 144, while the cost of the metre is AZN 138.
