Consulting Company Starts Development of Feasibility Study to Set up Petrochemical Complex in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr.S.Babayeva / Fahraddin Akhundov, the chief of the Production Department of the State company of Azerkimya, has stated that the consulting company of Nexant started development of feasibility study on establishment of a petrochemical complex in Azerbaijan.

Earlier Nexant won the relative tender. According to Akhundov, the company is currently getting familiar with the technology and equipment markets and analyzes the economic indexes. Nexant is planning to submit feasibility study to the Azerbaijani Government and it envisages selection of new more optimal petrochemical complex, as well as proposals regarding efficient usage of raw materials and energy carriers, expansion of production differences, improvement of consumer qualities and many other relevant issues.

The chief of the Department noted that Nexant together with the state company hold preparatory work to announce tender to choose the international consultant on juridical and finance issues of the project.

The state company believes that the new petrochemical complex will make Azerbaijan one of the main producers of petrochemical products in the region, as well as in the development of oil.
