Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / ВР Azerbaijan company has increased its gas production in the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field to 14.2mln cu m per 24 hours. The increase in production was caused by the commencement of gas transportation to Turkey, according to the company. For the time being, three wells are operating in the field. The fourth is planned to be launched in October.
Daily gas production in Shah Deniz operated by ВР comprises 500mln standard cu ft (some 14.2mln cu m) of gas and some 30,000 barrels of condensate, according to ВР Azerbaijan. The rise in production will continue with putting the remaining advance wells into operation. Drilling of new wells from a platform will begin later this year.
In 2007, ВР has plans to produce an average 63,000 barrels of oil equivalent per 24 hours (2.7bln cu m of gas and 0.8mln t of condensate). During stable production in Phase 1, the production in the field will make up 8.6bln cu m of gas per year and approximately 30,000 barrels of condensate per 24 hours.
