Kazakhstan, Astana / Trend corr K. Konyrova / Bulgaria is interested in Kazakhstan's participation in the Burgas-Alexandropulos oil pipeline project, the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister, Ivailo Kalfin, said to journalists at the Kazakhstan-Bulgarian business forum in Astana on 4 September.
"The main point is that there is a special approach from both the Bulgarian and Kazakhstan sides. From an economic standpoint the project is very interesting for Kazakhstan and it will enable the country to supply its oil to the Mediterranean region and to the south of Europe," Kalfin said.
"In fact, the pipeline will be a continuation of the operating CPC (Caspian Pipeline Company pipeline) for Kazakhstan," he added.
According to him, Bulgaria is ready to discuss different ways of Kazakhstan's participation in the project.
"Of course, when negotiations begin precise models of Kazakhstan's participation will be defined. Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and other parts of Burgas-Alexandropulos are ready to work jointly to develop the project," Kalfin said.
