By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Issuance of loans in Kazakhstan in 2018 increased by 24.4 percent or 2.6 trillion tenge, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"The lending market continues to recover. Excluding the loan portfolio of banks undergoing restructuring and deprived of licenses, the annual growth of lending to the economy is estimated at 7.4 percent or 883.5 billion tenge," Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Daniyar Akishev said at a government meeting.

He also noted that the interest rate on tenge loans to enterprises decreased from 13.2 percent in early 2018 to 11.7 percent in December.

"As part of the task of providing long-term resources for the priority sectors of the economy in the amount of 600 billion tenge, the National Bank together with the government and banks has developed mechanisms for financing projects, and now their implementation begins,” Akishev said.

He added that this will provide an additional increase in lending this year.
