Kazakhstan banks almost double profits

The profit of second-tier banks of Kazakhstan amounted to a record 104.7 billion tenge in January, which is almost twice more than in January last year, Trend reports via Ranking.kz.

Tsesnabank ranks first, with a profit of 50.5 billion tenge, which is 5.4 times more than in January 2018.

Halyk Bank ranks second with a profit of 21 billion tenge in January, a 33.9 percent increase, and Kaspi Bank is third with a profit of 9.8 billion tenge, a 6 percent increase compared to January last year.

Almost 93 percent of the banks’ revenues accounted for non-remuneration incomes, which grew by 8 percent year-on-year to 2.3 trillion tenge. Remuneration incomes increased by only 0.9 percent to 178.3 billion tenge.

At the same time, non-remuneration expenditures accounted for more than 96 percent, 2.3 trillion tenge, a 4.7 percent increase, while remuneration expenditures decreased by 8.2 percent to 90.7 billion tenge.
