Kazakh people spend over $664M on communications

In the period of January-May 2019, telecommunication facilities in Kazakhstan earned 252.2 billion tenge ($664.7 million), Trend reports citing LS news agency.

In comparable prices, this is 0.5 percent more than in the period of January-April 2018. Furthermore, some 12.4 billion tenge (-7.1 percent) accounted for local telephone connection, some 90.6 billion tenge (+11.5 percent) accounted for access to the internet and some 68.4 billion tenge (+8.4 percent) accounted for the cell service.

Out of the total volume of services provided, the major percentage accounts for broadband internet (35.9 percent) and mobile communication (27.2 percent). Furthermore, other types of telecommunication services accounted for 17.8 percent of the profit, whereas the work of the local telephone communication accounted for five percent and the services to promote the programs on cable infrastructure and wireless networks accounted for 4.7 percent.

In April 2019, the number of fixed telephone line and of cell service customers amounted to 3.3 million and 25.4 million people respectively.
