Kazakh telecommunications companies continue to increase income

In January-April 2019, the income of the companies on the telecommunications market has increased by annual 5.5 percent and amounted to 252.2 billion tenge, Trend reports citing Finprom.

In the same period of last year, the volume of their income has amounted to 239.1 billion tenge with an increase of annual 6.7 percent.

The major part of telecommunications market income accounts for internet services (35.9 percent). During first four months of 2019, the total volume of internet services income amounted to 90.6 billion tenge, which is an annual increase by 14 percent.

The second largest part of income accounts for mobile services (27.1 percent). The sum of the income amounts to 68.4 billion tenge, which is 6.4 percent less than in the same period of the previous year (73.1 billion tenge).

The income from data transmission and local mobile services equals to 15.5 billion and 12.5 billion tenge respectively. Other types of services account for 25.9 percent of the telecommunications market (65.3 billion tenge).

As of April 2019, the number of mobile telephone subscribers amounted to 25.4 million, with an annual decrease of 4.2 percent. During the same period of 2018, the number of mobile telephone subscribers stood at 26.5 million with the annual increase equaled to 4.6 percent.

At the same time, the number of mobile telephone subscribers with the access to the internet has increased by 7.2 percent and reached 14.6 million. Last year, there were 13.6 million subscribers, with an annual increase of 10.4 percent.

The number of mobile telephone subscribers per hundred people decreased, whereas the number of people who have access to interned increased from 75 to 79 per 100 people.
