The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready to consider assisting with privatization of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, the Bank told Trend.
“The EBRD supports IBA privatization intention by the Azerbaijani authorities. We remain in regular contact with both the IBA and the authorities, and would be happy to consider assisting with the process as and when the need may arise,” said EBRD.
IBA, founded in 1992, is one of Azerbaijan’s two state-owned banks.
The bank is at the stage of recovery since July 2015, which is associated with the preparation for the privatization of state-owned shares of the bank.
