Georgia's knitwear exports to Turkey down

Georgia exported knitted goods for a total amount of $25.49 million to Turkey in January-August 2019, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, Georgia reduced the export of knitwear by $3.15 million. For the same period last year, knitwear worth $28.64 million were imported from Georgia to Turkey.

In January-August 2019, Georgia exported men's suits for a total amount of $8.25 million to Turkey. On an annualized basis, Georgia increased the export of men's suits by $1.88 million. For the same period last year, men's suits worth $6.37 million were exported from the country to Turkey.

For eight months of 2019, total exports from Georgia to Turkey amounted to $144 million. In turn, imports to Georgia from Turkey stood at $993 million.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey from January to August 2019 exceeded $1.13 billion, which comprises 14 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
