The second stage of restoration and construction of the water supply system in the Georgian resort of Abastumani has begun, Trend reports with reference to Georgian media outlets.

The corresponding agreement was signed by Ekaterina Galdava, director of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia LLC, and Nugzar Robakidze, representative of GPK LLC, the project contractor.

“At the moment, the Abastumani water supply system is outdated and needs to be rehabilitated,” Galdava noted.

The work includes replacing the damaged pipe with a new one, and replacement of the water supply networks.

The first stage of the work included the repair of the water supply and sewage system in Abastumani, as well as the repair of the 3.2 km section of the road connecting Abastumani with Bagdati.

After completion of work, the local population and guests of the resort will receive uninterrupted water supply. Over four million lari ($1.35 million) are allocated from the state budget for the project.
