MP from Uzbekistan’s Social Democratic “Adolat” party Yormamat Kholiyarov proposed to abandon the US dollar, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
“The use of national currency in international mutual settlements by all states will positively affect the development of the world economy. It will also reduce the risk of pressure from large states on small ones,” the deputy said.
In his opinion, the Central Bank should begin work to improve banking policy and introduce new standards, as well as mechanisms.
Kholiyarov noted that abandoning the hegemony of foreign currency will help to overcome inflation.
