The nominal growth rate of turnovers in the non-oil sector exceeded the nominal growth rate of GDP by 2.5 percent and reached 8.9 percent in Azerbaijan from January through September 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, a source in the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes told Trend.
“The volume of turnovers in the country’s districts increased by 11.9 percent,” the source said. “In the non-oil sector, the growth rate of turnovers attracted to value added tax amounted to 12.8 percent, while in the districts - 27.9 percent.”
In the non-oil sector, the biggest growth rate was observed in trade (24.2 percent), retail trade (36.2 percent) and wholesale trade (15.8 percent), public production (21.6 percent) and production sector (18.1 percent).
Turnover attracted to value added tax increased by 33 percent, in retail trade by 41.5 percent, in wholesale trade - by 27.6 percent, in the service sector - by 14.1 percent, in public catering and agriculture - by 19 percent and 15.8 percent, respectively.
In the total turnover of the non-oil sector, the share of e-invoice turnover increased from 55.2 percent to 63.3 percent while the volume of e-invoices increased by 24.9 percent.
The share of e-invoice turnover in the non-oil industry in the total turnover increased from 69.7 percent to 84.4 percent, in trade - from 48.2 percent to 55.8 percent (including wholesale trade - from 66.2 percent to 81.6 percent), in construction - from 83.9 percent to 88.9 percent (excluding taxpayers serving the oil and gas sector), while in agriculture it increased from 50.7 percent to 91.8 percent.
The biggest growth in turnovers formalized upon e-invoices is observed in agriculture (1.9 times), trade (43.8 percent), including retail trade (48 percent) and wholesale trade (42.7 percent), non-oil production (31.1 percent), services sector (excluding taxpayers serving the oil and gas sector - 20.1 percent), including catering (28.6 percent), communication (21.1 percent) and other spheres of activity (19.4 percent).
