Non-cash payments increase in Turkmenistan

One of the main directions of Turkmenistan's banking system is the reduction of cash turnover by increasing the number of cashless payments, Trend reports referring to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on January 2.

Today, the number of bank cards in circulation is more than 3.5 million units. Banks of Turkmenistan are consistently introducing the latest types of electronic payments. In the near future, Rysgal Joint Stock Commercial Bank will present to customers new features of the MasterCard payment system. Thus, the country introduces contactless payment technology for the first time.

New types of bank cards Goyum Bank Karty and Masgala Karty are also being created in Turkmenistan, which will allow customers to receive additional income in the form of interest on account’s deposit balances.

The active use of internet banking and mobile banking allows customers of national commercial banks to repay the amount of the principal debt and loan’s interests, pay for the services of mobile operators, the internet, home telephone and IP-television with just one click on the button of a mobile phone or computer key, reads the message.
